WhatsApp Your Customers Straight From the Job

Confirmations and reminders go out on their own. Replies land on the job sheet, where the whole office can see them — not on one person’s phone.

Morning — any news on the Golf?
10:58
Hi Dave, it’s through the MOT. Rear pads are down to 2mm though — £128 inc VAT to change them while it’s still on the ramp. Want us to go ahead?

Yes please, go ahead.

Why it works

Where customers already are

Most customers read a WhatsApp within minutes and leave an email for days. You get an answer while the car is still on the ramp.

The whole office can see it

Conversations sit on the job, not on the owner’s handset. Anyone can pick up a reply when the person who sent it is under a car.

Approvals stay on record

When a customer types “yes, go ahead” it is saved against the job. No argument later about what was authorised or what it was going to cost.

Write your own messages

Set up your own wording for the things you send all the time — car ready to collect, parts on order — and send it in one tap.

How it works

1
Step 1

Connect your number

Link the WhatsApp Business number your garage already uses. It carries on working on your phone exactly as it does now — customers see no change.

2
Step 2

Confirmations send themselves

A booking confirmation goes out when the booking is made, and a reminder the day before. You only type when you have something to say.

3
Step 3

Replies land on the job

Every answer appears on the job sheet next to the vehicle and the customer, so the record is complete by the time you invoice.

FAQ

Can I use my existing WhatsApp number?
Yes. You connect the WhatsApp Business number your garage already uses, and it keeps working on your phone as normal. Messages sent from the phone and messages sent from Garagess appear in the same conversation, so nothing gets lost between the two.
Does WhatsApp cost anything?
Garagess does not charge per message, but Meta does charge for automated messages your garage starts — a few pence each in the UK. Anything a customer starts, and any reply you send within 24 hours of hearing from them, is free. A typical booking costs a few pence in confirmations and reminders. You can set a monthly spend figure and Garagess will warn you as you approach it.
What happens to the conversation if a member of staff leaves?
Nothing. The conversation belongs to the garage, not to the person who typed it. That is the main reason to move off a personal WhatsApp account — when the phone walks out of the door, the record of what customers agreed to walks out with it.
Do customers need to install anything?
No. They receive a normal WhatsApp message from your garage and reply in the app they already use every day. There is nothing to download, no login, and no portal to sign into.
Can I still send messages myself instead of automatically?
Yes. Automatic confirmations and reminders handle the routine messages, and you can type anything else straight from the job — a photo of a worn part, a price for extra work, or a note to say the car is ready.
